Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or aeronautical engineering from an accredited university
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a mechanical design or mechanical analysis engineering position
- Must have – or have the ability to obtain – a US Government Security clearance at the Secret level
Responsibilities
- Execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of assigned projects for advanced military products
- Execute work and support team with sound engineering principles
- Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area and integrates with others
- Has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate in the market
- Adhere to business standards, practices, procedures, and product requirements
- Leverage prior mechanical design experience and broaden knowledge of one’s own technical discipline to meet product deliverables within schedule and budget constraints
- Demonstrate systems-thinking mentality to understand how work of one’s team integrates with others to achieve product requirements
- Exhibit autonomy to make decisions of moderately complex problems in area of expertise
- Function as a resource for colleagues with less experience – may lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements
- Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations
- This role requires sound interpersonal skills to develop strong internal and external customer relationships by serving as an interface point within GE
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or aeronautical engineering from an accredited university
- Highly motivated, passionate about the NGP mission, and with strong communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve technical challenges with sound reasoning, project planning, execution, and documentation
- Experience with structural component design and system analysis
- Experience with manufacturing processes
- Demonstrated ability to lead programs, projects, and teams
- Holding an existing US Government Security Clearance
