Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering.
- At least 5 additional years of experience in an aerospace or mechanical engineering position.
- Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement plans to ensure that contract requirements are fulfilled.
- Lead efforts to solve both technical and schedule related problems.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other personnel.
- Work with a closely integrated team of engineers and scientists to design the next generation of jet engine turbomachinery.
- Work closely with internal and external manufacturing organizations to deliver hardware for rig and full engine testing.
- Present work to subject matter experts and program leaders at technical reviews.
- Participate in technical reviews as a reviewer.
- Ensure work is thoroughly documented.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated passion for engineering and exceptional communication skills.
- 10 years or more of experience in a mechanical design engineering position.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze & solve technical design challenges with sound documentation, planning, & program management skills.
- Experience with finite element analysis software such as ANSYS and 3D modelling software such as NX Unigraphics.
- Material Review Board (MRB) certification.
- Strong track record of ability to work in a team environment.
- Outstanding mentoring skills and a strong desire to help others succeed.
- Experience with structural component design.
- Current/existing US Government Security Clearance.
- Experience with engine/aircraft maintainability and reliability.
- Experience with design quality assurance.
- Experience working with DoD customer and processes.
- Experience working on DoD EVM projects.
