Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and two years of engineering experience required (or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience)
- 2 years of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) experience.
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of engineering experience required (or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience)
Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor the performance and health of site systems to identify and resolve issues proactively.
- Respond to and mitigate site-related incidents, ensuring minimal disruption to services.
- Ensure that site systems have the necessary resources to handle current and future demands.
- Evaluate commercial packages, vendors, and architectures.
- Help define ubiquitous language.
- Develop and implement automation tools to enhance system reliability and efficiency.
- Analyze system performance data and make recommendations for improvements.
- Work closely with development teams to integrate reliability best practices into the software development lifecycle.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for site systems and procedures.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continually enhance site reliability.
- Set data modeling standards.
- Set development standards.
- Learn unfamiliar technologies that OIT is adopting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) experience strongly preferred
- Master’s degree and 5 years of SRE experience preferred
- Supervision experience preferred (full-time or part-time)
