Requirements
- Strong understanding of infrastructure and platform technologies, VMs (Windows and Linux), network, cloud platforms (PCF, AWS, GCP), SRE tenets, and infrastructure as code.
- Strong understanding of performance testing. Familiarity with tools like JMeter, and/or LoadRunner. Understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases and their impact on performance.
- Proven ability to lead, develop, and manage teams, set priorities, and make decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to identify and solve complex problems, think critically, and make data-driven decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science and/or a related field and 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, and people development.
Responsibilities
- Set team priorities and align them with broader organizational goals.
- Set clear expectations, provide feedback, and coach team members to foster growth and development.
- Manage team health and staffing, ensuring the team has the resources and skills needed to succeed.
- Participate in the development of the long-term technical vision and roadmap for infrastructure and platform services.
- Ensure the roadmap aligns with anticipated future requirements and infrastructure needs.
- Oversee systems designs and review product or system development code to solve ambiguous problems.
- Ensure the security, reliability, and scalability of infrastructure and platform services.
- Understand high-level architecture and design patterns.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in infrastructure and platform engineering.
- Work closely with other teams including product, finance and customer facing teams to understand their needs and ensure alignment.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Build strong relationships and foster a culture of trust, accountability, and collaboration.
- Ensure that infrastructure and platform related projects are delivered on time.
- Maintain high standards of quality and reliability.
- Provide feedback to automation engineers to ensure best practices.
