Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred
- 3–6+ years of relevant experience in corporate tax, with a strong focus on ASC 740 and income tax provision
- Experience in a public accounting firm (Big 4 or large regional) or a corporate tax department of a multinational company preferred
- Strong hands-on experience with corporate income tax provision matters
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with tax provision software such as Corptax is highly desirable
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and financial reporting systems
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Superior attention to detail with strong time management, organizational, analytical and planning skills
- Able to manage multiple projects and prioritize accordingly to meet deadlines especially expedited requests
- Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively with team in various levels while being able to work independently
- Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement approach to processes and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and review of global quarter (Interim) and annual (Year-end) income tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740, including, but not limited to:
- Liaise with international offices for various quarter-close income tax provision matters
- Review tax packages submitted by local offices, including analysis of permanent/temporary book/tax differences, return-to-provision adjustments, and cash tax payments.
- Perform effective tax rate (ETR) analytics and review global rate fluctuations and drivers.
- Maintain valuation allowance analysis
- Prepare tax account rollforwards and reconciliations; extract trial balances from financial systems as needed.
- Compilation and submission of income tax provision journal entries.
- Deliver accurate and timely income tax provision documentation to internal and external stakeholders
- Support SOX compliance by maintaining proper documentation for income tax processes and controls.
- Maintain company’s tax account mapping structure, coordinating with local offices to ensure accuracy
- Maintain the income tax compliance calendar and monitor the filing status of local tax returns
- Maintain Net Operating Loss (NOL) carryforward schedules
- Review cash tax payment submissions and cross-reference to support provided by local offices
- Prepare monthly forecast provision models, including flux analysis for various tax accounts
- Stay informed of latest tax law/accounting standard changes and assist in tax accounting research projects
- Assist with other tax matters as needed.
