Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in EMC and product safety certification for computing hardware.
- Expert-level knowledge of FCC Subpart 15 regulations for Class A and Class B computing devices.
- Strong background of global certification processes (FCC, UL, CE [UKCA], CCC, VCCI, BSMI, RCM, etc.).
- Strong understanding of EMC/RF test methodologies, including conductive, emissions, immunity, ESD, and transient testing.
- Hands-on experience conducting pre-compliance and full-compliance testing in an EMC chamber.
- Proficiency with EMC test equipment and platforms (Semi-anechoic chambers, SAs, receivers, LISN, ISN), knowledge of their features and limitations.
- Experience interfacing with regulatory agencies, test labs, and third-party compliance organizations.
- Experience in risk assessments and hazard analysis to identify safety issues in product designs.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve compliance failures.
- Excellent communication skills to support internal teams and global sales efforts.
Responsibilities
- Lead EMC and safety certification and design efforts for high-powered AI computing hardware across global markets.
- Ensure compliance with FCC regulations, including FCC Subpart B Class A (commercial/industrial) and Class B (residential/consumer) computing equipment.
- Manage global certification processes for North America (FCC, UL), Europe (CE [UKCA]), Asia (CCC, VCCI, BSMI, RCM), and other international regulatory agencies.
- Define and implement test strategies for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), radio frequency (RF) emissions, and immunity compliance.
- Collaborate with third-party test labs, certification bodies, and regulatory agencies to facilitate approvals. Compile certification plans and prepare certification paperwork.
- Work closely with design engineers to ensure compliance is integrated into product development from early design phases, perform pre-scans and root cause EMC issues.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including test reports, regulatory filings, and product compliance declarations.
- Lead investigations and root cause analysis for compliance failures and recommend design modifications as needed.
- Provide guidance on safety standards (IEC 62368-1, IEC 60065, GB 4943.1 and other relevant global safety standards).
- Stay up to date with evolving EMC and safety regulations, ensuring Tenstorrent remains compliant with the latest industry requirements.
- Support sales and business teams by providing certification guidance for market entry and customer compliance inquiries.
- Train internal teams on EMC/safety best practices and regulatory trends.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with high-power, rack-mounted AI & Compute blades EMC and Safety design, testing, and standards is a strong plus.
- Ability to travel internationally (up to 5%) to support testing, supplier visits, and regulatory engagements.
