Requirements

  • Engineering degree. If you reside in Alberta, you are required to have a Professional Engineering designation with APEGA.
  • Six years of experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, @RISK or other Monte Carlo simulation software, and other tools as needed.
  • Able to apply computer software and other tools to conduct detailed analyses.
  • Clear thinker and effective communicator, both written and oral.
  • Utilizes learning to inform process improvement and proactive changes.

Responsibilities

  • Review, evaluate, and support the development of suitable risk registers.
  • Develop, lead, and guide others within Cost Engineering to effectively facilitate and support risk processes and quantification of risk through project definition and contingencies and management reserves.
  • Conduct contingency assessments to ensure contingency levels are appropriate for a range of development classes, project sizes, and lines of business.
  • Facilitate Project Definition sessions for project teams to accurately assess the maturity of projects.
  • Perform due diligence requests to support unique development opportunities within Projects.
  • Own, maintain, and improve the Contingency Estimating Tool, Contingency Estimating Process, Project Definition Rating Process and related documents and templates.
  • Ensure risk quantification methods are aligned with the parameters defined by project maturity requirements and the accuracy of different classes of estimates.
