Requirements
- Engineering degree. If you reside in Alberta, you are required to have a Professional Engineering designation with APEGA.
- Six years of experience.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, @RISK or other Monte Carlo simulation software, and other tools as needed.
- Able to apply computer software and other tools to conduct detailed analyses.
- Clear thinker and effective communicator, both written and oral.
- Utilizes learning to inform process improvement and proactive changes.
Responsibilities
- Review, evaluate, and support the development of suitable risk registers.
- Develop, lead, and guide others within Cost Engineering to effectively facilitate and support risk processes and quantification of risk through project definition and contingencies and management reserves.
- Conduct contingency assessments to ensure contingency levels are appropriate for a range of development classes, project sizes, and lines of business.
- Facilitate Project Definition sessions for project teams to accurately assess the maturity of projects.
- Perform due diligence requests to support unique development opportunities within Projects.
- Own, maintain, and improve the Contingency Estimating Tool, Contingency Estimating Process, Project Definition Rating Process and related documents and templates.
- Ensure risk quantification methods are aligned with the parameters defined by project maturity requirements and the accuracy of different classes of estimates.
