Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field
- Typically 6+ years of progressive experience in project management roles and/or in related or technical fields
- Proficient in leading a team of at least 5 either directly or indirectly
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software
- Demonstrated experience in managing a highly complex project and its various parts; proposal development, contract negotiation, resource management, engineering development, operations and production, test through delivery and contract closeout
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical skills & capability to meet schedules
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance is required
Responsibilities
- Managing a high risk, high complexity project with multiple deliverables
- Monitoring the project from initiation through delivery and program closeout
- Developing, defining, and executing project plans, schedules, budgets and deliverables
- Identifying needed resources for projects
- Interfacing with internal and external customers or field-based employees on technical matters as needed
- Tracking progress against milestones, budgetary guidelines, or other performance indicators
- Preparing reports to stakeholders
- Orchestrating execution with direct reports or a larger support staff
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- A proven background and recent competency in Earned Value Management
- Experience applying Earned Value Management concepts in working with federal government contracts, budget process, and fund management
- Experience managing project scope and scope creep during project execution
- Experience in resource planning and management during project execution
- Experience with risk management planning and documentation
- Knowledge of Kaizen & Lean Manufacturing principles
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100 & CMMI process standards
- Familiarity with government contracting and regulations
