Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of experience, or 6 years of experience with a Master’s degree; 4 years of experience with PhD
- Must be a US Citizen with an active DoD Secret Clearance, at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
- Experience performing CAD modeling with design tools such as Siemens NX or similar
- Experience performing mechanical design efforts on MILCON, major infrastructure/building projects, or Aerospace and Defense programs
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite of tools – Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
- Ability to understand and interpret requirements
Responsibilities
- Responsible for overseeing and coordinating mechanical systems design
- Evaluating mechanical systems, products, components, and applications by reviewing designs.
- Ensures product quality by reviewing mechanical designs and validating that current standards are applied.
- Supports the delivery of Mechanical Systems design Technical Data Packages, as-built TDPs, PDPs, interface models, and additional design artifacts
- Supporting structured trade studies to evaluate alternative design solutions to resolve technical issues
- Developing and presenting design change requests, coordinating with impacted internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring configuration control of the technical baseline.
- Identifying risks and opportunities associated with or driven by design factors and executing handling/mitigation/capture actions to reduce risk or realize opportunities.
- Developing and maturing Mechanical System designs that meet Weapon System requirements, UFC, MIL-STD, and other applicable codes and regulations.

- Must be able to work independently, function in a dynamic environment, and be flexible to changing direction
- Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills, including the ability to clearly and succinctly communicate complex concepts
- Exposure to missiles program requirements & with propulsion
- Proficient with 3D design/2D drawing CAD in NX
- Proficient with PDM and/or CPLM
- Proficient with GD&T and ASME Y14.5-2009
