Requirements
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 9 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university AND 7 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. AND 4 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
- Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
- Knowledge of EO/IR phenomenology
- Experience in lab testing, hardware/software verification, and concept development
- Experience in the modeling of EOIR systems to assess performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead and/or support development and testing of electro-optical systems
- Design and analyze EO/IR signal processing algorithms and software
- Requirements analysis, development, allocations and tracking
- Performing functional analysis, timeline analysis, running detailed trade studies, translating customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
- Providing design assessments
- Performing cost trades
- Performing risk analysis and developing mitigation plans and tracking to closure
- Managing suppliers, review and analysis of supplier design data, definition of functional test requirements including acceptance, qualification, system integration, and support test execution
- Identifying/planning/executing informal and formal testing of subsystem requirements in lab, troubleshooting hardware in the lab
- Leading aircraft ground and flight test on subsystems to validate and verify subsystem requirement and sell-off
- Leading technical discussions with the customer and having daily interaction with management, external personnel, customers, and various sub teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Good verbal and written communications skills for presentation of technical approaches, work performed, results, and findings
- Ability to assimilate new concepts quickly and independently
- Experience in EO/IR system and atmospheric modeling
- Knowledge of digital image processing algorithms
- Experience with system modeling and requirements management tools (Cameo, DOORS, Rhapsody, etc.), developing/maturing requirements, and tracing requirements through various levels
- Ability to support discussions between multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to regularly engage with senior stakeholders and program leads.
