Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university AND 9 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university AND 7 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; or a Ph.D. AND 4 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
  • Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
  • Knowledge of EO/IR phenomenology
  • Experience in lab testing, hardware/software verification, and concept development
  • Experience in the modeling of EOIR systems to assess performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and/or support development and testing of electro-optical systems
  • Design and analyze EO/IR signal processing algorithms and software
  • Requirements analysis, development, allocations and tracking
  • Performing functional analysis, timeline analysis, running detailed trade studies, translating customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
  • Providing design assessments
  • Performing cost trades
  • Performing risk analysis and developing mitigation plans and tracking to closure
  • Managing suppliers, review and analysis of supplier design data, definition of functional test requirements including acceptance, qualification, system integration, and support test execution
  • Identifying/planning/executing informal and formal testing of subsystem requirements in lab, troubleshooting hardware in the lab
  • Leading aircraft ground and flight test on subsystems to validate and verify subsystem requirement and sell-off
  • Leading technical discussions with the customer and having daily interaction with management, external personnel, customers, and various sub teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Good verbal and written communications skills for presentation of technical approaches, work performed, results, and findings
  • Ability to assimilate new concepts quickly and independently
  • Experience in EO/IR system and atmospheric modeling
  • Knowledge of digital image processing algorithms
  • Experience with system modeling and requirements management tools (Cameo, DOORS, Rhapsody, etc.), developing/maturing requirements, and tracing requirements through various levels
  • Ability to support discussions between multidisciplinary teams
  • Ability to regularly engage with senior stakeholders and program leads.
