Requirements
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices related to investments, including GAAP, STAT, IFRS and relevant regulatory requirements, including the preparation of regulatory reports and compliance documents.
- Expertise in various investment products and strategies, with knowledge of their accounting implications.
- Experience with financial reporting, performance management, and compliance for investment vehicles.
- Proficient in investment accounting software (e.g., Clearwater, Eagle, PAM, Aladdin, CAMRA, Advent, Bloomberg) and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau).
- Expertise in developing and managing financial data management systems, including experience with end-to-end data solutions for investment accounting.
- Skilled in designing streamlined processes that enhance operational efficiency while ensuring alignment with financial management principles and regulatory requirements.
- Proficient in analyzing current operating models and mapping business processes to identify inefficiencies, optimize workflows, and assess cost implications, utilizing performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to inform decision-making.
- Proven ability to implement business processes and architectures within investment operations to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Expertise in the following services/solutions: drafting and designing accounting policies, Financial Statement close process support, technical accounting research and advice.
- Ability to create and deliver compelling presentations to communicate findings, recommendations, and the proposed target operating model to stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Engage with clients to understand their investment accounting issues, needs, and objectives, building strong relationships and trust.
- Conduct thorough reviews of client accounting practices and investment portfolios, identifying areas for improvement and potential risks.
- Create and recommend tailored solutions to address clients’ investment accounting challenges, including reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency.
- Guide clients through the implementation of recommended solutions, ensuring successful adoption and integration into their existing processes.
- Provide training sessions and ongoing support to clients and internal teams on investment accounting principles, best practices, and software tools.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of services and adherence to client expectations.
- Stay current with industry trends, accounting standards, and regulatory changes, sharing insights and knowledge with clients and colleagues.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, and client services, to align client needs with company offerings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree, CPA, CFA designation is preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10+ years of experience in investment accounting, financial consulting, or a similar capacity.
