Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
  • Minimum of 2-4 years payroll experience required; experience processing multi-state and/or international payroll preferred
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now required
  • Experience with union populations preferred
  • Must be comfortable working in multiple systems pulling reports and entering data
  • Current knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding payroll
  • Proficiency in Excel: formulas, vlookups, pivot tables
  • Must possess problem-solving and analytical skills, initiative, and the ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple deadlines
  • Ability to handle confidential material and communicate with various levels of management

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the Director of Payroll to ensure accurate operations of the payroll functions with minimal errors
  • Ensure accurate processing of semi-monthly payrolls for over 500 regular, temporary & seasonal employees both domestic & international using ADP Workforce Now
  • Collect and process data in HRIS and Payroll systems, including new hires, terminations, employment changes (supervisor & job title changes, etc.), payroll and tax related data
  • Process child support and garnishment orders
  • Review timesheets and facilitate timecard approvals/processing
  • Coordinate with employees, department managers, Human Resources, and Finance & Accounting staff to resolve payroll-related issues as they arise
  • Review & update 401(k) deferral changes in payroll system
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, and applicable local, state, and federal laws
  • Continually enhance and update process documentation
  • Assist year-end payroll reporting and preparation of W-2 forms
  • Assist with various audits and provide information to auditors as needed
  • Assist in updating data that feeds into the payroll forecast in Workday Adaptive.
