Requirements
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (mechanical, aerospace, etc) or related field
- 5 years of relevant experience
- Understanding and proficiency in the use of 3D computer aided design tools (such as CREO)
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the spacecraft-level layout design
- Convert Systems Engineering specifications and block diagrams into 3D designs
- Optimize layouts for system performance and other factors such as accessibility for assembly and test, optimal payload performance, mass properties, etc.
- Document the interfaces between major subsystems to ensure proper fit and alignments during spacecraft integration
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Ability to learn quickly and multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment
- Familiarity with Teamcenter
- Experience with mechanical design for spacecraft layouts including propulsion layout, external configurations, and internal component layouts
- Understanding of how various propulsion and RF components work
- Experience facilitating design reviews, presenting technical ideas, and design status
- Ability to manage schedules for design projects
- Enjoying working with cross functional teams
