Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 3 years of focus on working with contract manufacturers in high-tech hardware environments.
  • Significant experience in managing NPI and ramp-up processes at contract manufacturers
  • Proven expertise in commissioning and managing custom test fixtures in collaboration with contract manufacturers.
  • Strong knowledge of server hardware architecture, assembly, and integration processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the New Product Introduction (NPI) process from design to high-volume production, partnering closely with contract manufacturers (CMs).
  • Oversee production ramp-up, ensuring product quality, volume targets, and timelines are met.
  • Act as the primary liaison between internal teams and CMs, ensuring alignment on specifications, schedules, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with CMs and internal engineering to design, build, and validate custom test fixtures.
  • Ensure all test systems (e.g., power, cooling, connectivity) are accurate, functional, and support efficient production.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to test infrastructure.
  • Drive the development, validation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes including assembly, integration, and test.
  • Implement Lean manufacturing practices and support quality system implementation at CMs.
  • Partner with R&D, product management, and supply chain teams to align on product design, timelines, and manufacturing needs.
  • Work directly with CM engineering and ops teams to resolve production issues and optimize processes.
  • Manage CM relationships to ensure delivery of high-quality, cost-effective products on schedule.
  • Support supplier evaluations and lead performance improvement initiatives.
  • Drive project timelines, resource planning, and milestone tracking, reporting progress and risks to leadership.
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies with CMs to address quality and production challenges.
  • Ensure rigorous adherence to testing and validation protocols to meet product specifications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt, Black Belt) or equivalent.
  • Experience with server components sourcing, assembly, and testing in the data center or cloud infrastructure sectors.
  • Familiarity with ERP and MES systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Siemens) to manage and track production processes with contract manufacturers.
