Requirements

  • 5+ years of operations experience in a highly regulated environment, preferably in financial services, wealth management, custody, or brokerage
  • 2+ years of people management experience with demonstrated success coaching early-career talent
  • Proven ability to lead through ambiguity, drive change management, and build team engagement
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage metrics to diagnose issues and measure improvement
  • Strong project management and stakeholder communication skills
  • Series 99 and SIE licenses (or willingness to obtain)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Lead Project Manager for Operations projects which require technical knowledge of both Betterment products as well as Operations processes
  • Collaborate with a variety of teams including but not limited to product, engineering, legal and compliance to drive these projects to completion
  • Primary liaison and point of contact for vendor relationships with Betterment
  • Manage a team of (6) associates; develop their career trajectories as thought partners in identifying and executing process improvements in Operations
  • Drive a culture of accountability, feedback, and continuous improvement
  • Set clear performance expectations and development plans for direct reports
  • Serve as the primary resource for metrics around Ops processes and deliverables
  • Manage meetings with respective teams and identify opportunities for growth and/or improvement both individually and as a team
  • Create reporting for the CEO and deliver status reports/metrics in standing meetings
  • Partner with current stakeholders to make sure the team is adequately trained to handle current deliverables
  • Work with Operations managers to build robust training programs and increase visibility so that opportunities to learn and advance skill sets are not siloed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of KYC, asset transfer processes, and regulatory documentation requirements (preferred)
  • Experience partnering with Risk, Compliance, or Legal teams a plus
