Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in growth marketing, product marketing, or community activation in a consumer tech or social app.
- Strong understanding of viral growth mechanics, referral loops, and organic acquisition strategies.
- Proven experience in user acquisition, onboarding optimization, and retention strategies.
- Deep knowledge of Black culture, digital trends, and social media behaviors that influence organic growth.
- Strong brand marketing experience, with the ability to own and protect brand voice, positioning, and messaging.
- Strong analytical and experimentation skills to optimize marketing initiatives.
- Highly adaptable and comfortable navigating rapid product and marketing testing cycles.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies to attract new users organically through word-of-mouth, viral engagement loops, and social sharing mechanisms.
- Leverage influencer, content creator, and brand ambassador programs to drive awareness and first-time downloads.
- Work closely with Product, Performance Marketing, Design, and Analytics teams to ensure acquisition strategies align with user behaviors, optimize onboarding flows, create engaging first-time user experiences, and drive feature adoption.
- Design and refine the user onboarding process to ensure new users quickly understand and find value in the product.
- Use data and experimentation to test and optimize activation strategies and improve activation rates (profile completion, first messages, engagement in social/community-driven features).
- Develop and execute re-engagement campaigns using push notifications, email marketing, and in-app content.
- Analyze user behavior data to identify churn risks and implement solutions.
- Increase Monthly Active Users (MAU) and Daily Active Users (DAU), and optimize conversion rates across the user journey (signup → activation → retention).
- Ensure all growth initiatives reflect BLK’s values, mission, and cultural identity.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to define needs and build a high-performing team aligned to brand objectives. Establish feedback loops to gather user insights and integrate them into product development and marketing strategies.
