Requirements
- Experience drafting, negotiating, and advising business partners on complex commercial contracts with minimal supervision and strong attention to detail.
- Experience with legal technology platforms and demonstrated interest in leveraging AI tools to improve legal processes and outcomes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify process improvements and implement systematic solutions.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.

Responsibilities
- Draft, revise, and negotiate commercial contracts, including vendor agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and other contracts to meet your business partners’ needs.
- Lead systematic improvements to the contracting process by implementing best practices and leveraging AI tools and technology solutions to streamline workflows and enhance accuracy.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand contractual needs, advise on terms, and ensure alignment with corporate policies and strategic objectives.
- Maintain and update templates, playbooks, and process documentation to support consistent and efficient contract management across the organization.
- Partner with Securian Financial’s Procurement department to manage contract lifecycle processes including tracking key dates, renewal schedules, and compliance obligations to ensure all contractual commitments are met.
- Cross train with other members of the team to occasionally provide backup or capacity coverage for other corporate legal functions, including corporate governance and regulatory filings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Paralegal Certification
- Experience in law firm or corporate legal department
- Familiarity with contract management systems and legal technology platforms
- Knowledge of AI applications in legal operations and process improvement
