Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years of related procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing or electrical environment.
- Strong technical literacy and understanding of engineering documentation.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering departments to acquire materials in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Obtain materials, components, equipment, and services from qualified suppliers, ensuring alignment with technical requirements and production schedules.
- Develop and maintain technical understanding of products and systems purchased; interpret prints, schematics, CAD files, drawings, and e-files.
- Perform cost analysis and volume planning for major commodities and materials.
- Monitor the cost, schedule, and scope of assigned purchases and subcontracts to ensure highest quality at optimal value.
- Identify and develop new supply sources where existing vendors are inadequate or limited.
- Recommend and implement cost-saving proposals, including make-versus-buy analysis, alternative sourcing strategies, and vendor evaluation criteria.
- Evaluate supplier performance and manage vendor relationships to ensure continuous improvement and reliable supply.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve complex procurement and production challenges using creative, data-driven approaches.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven track record of success in managing technical procurement activities, particularly in the electrical and/or manufacturing sectors.
- Experience in ordering machined and sheet metal parts using various technical documentation formats.
