Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field
  • Proven experience in quality control, inspection, or related fields
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract

Responsibilities

  • Review and manage First Article Inspections (FAI) with AS9102 and internal standards
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and other technical documents to ensure that all requirements are met
  • Collaborate closely with suppliers to identify, address, and resolve any issues found in their First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) from initiation through completion
  • Run and update status reports, ensuring timely distribution to key stakeholders
  • Monitor and support open action items (ARs) and escalate as needed. Make updates as necessary
  • Assist in training and providing guidance to other team members regarding FAI procedures and best practices
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align priorities and maintain workflow efficiency
  • Continuously improve the FAI process by identifying areas for efficiency improvements
  • Respond to urgent and priority items accordingly
  • Knowledge of special process assessments and audits, including but not limited to NDT, heat treating, welding, brazing, plating, and chemical processing specifications
  • Assist the team with coordination and administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations
  • Maintain distribution inboxes, assist with portal resets, and support team communications during critical process phases
  • Document and maintain meeting minutes, track action items, and ensure follow-up
  • Support deployment of digital solutions and automated data analytics to achieve alignment and improved user experiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of First Article Inspection requirements (AS9102, PPAP, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
  • Proficiency in using measuring tools and equipment (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.)
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and documentation skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data, making sound decisions based on findings
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with different teams effectively
  • Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and ERP systems is a plus
