Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a local media spokesperson to provide statements from Lowe’s on the resolution of customer complaints
  • Tracks and reports quarterly progress on media-issued customer complaints, including preparing presentations to be shared with leadership to show trends
  • Consults with leaders from Executive Customer Relations (ECR), Services and other business units to prepare statements for local media outlets regarding customer complaints and other local issues
  • Participates in weekly calls with ECR and updates the media / customer complaint and sensitive issues tracker
  • Partners with key stakeholders and business partners (e.g. Executive Customer Relations) to optimize the customer complaint project management process
  • Supports the Senior Manager’s crisis planning efforts and strategic counsel on how to avoid reputational risks on the horizon
  • Supports the crisis communications team, participates in team meetings and interacts with Lowe’s PR agency
  • Leads external communications for the full-line and outlet store grand openings and develops communications plans and concise messaging
  • Conducts media training for store managers in advance of grand openings
  • Collaborates with other communication leads to ensure awareness of upcoming press releases and communications plans
  • Develops the effectiveness of communications and its delivery processes to best convey the Lowe’s brand through its messaging
  • Reviews, edits and approves content to ensure effective delivery via multiple communications vehicles
  • Participates in management activities and meetings with business managers and senior leadership as necessary
  • Executes assigned projects within specified budgets, timelines, and allocated resources

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree Communications, Broadcast Journalism or Journalism
  • 3-5 Years of Experience in communications role or industry, specifically experience in a corporate role within a large organization, preferably retail and/or PR agency or news media outlet
