Requirements

  • Splunk developer/data admin experience creating and managing knowledge objects (field extractions, macros, event types, etc.)
  • Experience with Splunk applications and dashboard development

  • Ansible experience
  • Python/Perl script development experience
  • GIT/GitHub experience
  • Java scripting experience to augment Splunk visualizations
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to convey complex issues to diverse audiences in an easily understandable and actionable way
  • Proven ability to engage collaboratively with people in diverse teams and geographical locations
  • Software/Scripting development in Python/Perl
  • Splunk power user and app development
  • AWS and/or Azure experience
  • Datadog observability platform experience
  • A broad technical and business understanding and experience

Responsibilities

  • Working independently with no supervision.
  • Programs data pipelines and system integrations; optimizes and maintains distributed data flows.
  • Improves data quality and participates in data governance and reliability activities; develops and maintains data catalog; implements data enrichment, data cleansing, and data quality improvements.
  • Designs optimal data models, builds and manages summarized datasets, leads performance tuning activities, and designs and develops data APIs.
  • Performs intermediate level statistical analysis; implements machine learning pipelines in production.
  • Provides guidance and feedback to junior data engineers on the execution of associated tasks.
  • Analyzes data to discover tasks that can be automated; identifies process improvements; implements automation; develops prototypes and proofs of concept for the selected solutions.
  • Networks with senior leaders and seeks out learning opportunities to increase own knowledge, skill, and overall expertise in field.
  • Serves as a technical lead on a feature or system, assigns work to a small project team, and works on advanced technical tasks to complete a project.
  • Works with internal and external stakeholders to support and drive efforts for the translation of data needs into technical system requirements.
  • Discusses technical issues with project lead to address challenges and resolve problems.
  • Leads technical conversations with more junior level data engineers and presents solutions to technical challenges.
  • Writes clear and detailed technical documentation for complex or difficult projects.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for escalated support.
