Requirements
- Possesses a degree which includes an internship from an approved Master’s program in SLP, or as required by applicable law and/or regulation.
- Meets the education and experience requirements for a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology, granted by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- One (1) clinical experience in SLP.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license, active auto insurance meeting state minimum requirements and an operational vehicle.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients and their home environments and identify necessary equipment for speech/language function.
- Identify speech defects and create a care plan to improve patient function.
- Administer speech therapy using specialized techniques and equipment.
- Recommend communication devices as needed.
- Coordinate with physicians and other staff to ensure comprehensive care.
- Participate in meetings and training sessions to ensure coordinated care.
- Prepare and submit notes according to agency policy.
- Maintain clinical skills in speech-language pathology.
- Identify and refer patients/families for additional services as needed.
- Instruct patients, families, and healthcare staff on treatment plans.
- Supervise home health aides in speech-language therapy procedures.
- Meet productivity expectations based on business needs.
- Perform other duties to support speech-language pathology services.
