Requirements
- Speech Therapist with a current license in the state of employment.
- Minimum one-year experience as a ST in an acute care setting. Home care experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and auto insurance in your name as a driver.
- Capable of all physical demands.
Responsibilities
- Develop an individualized ST plan of care and makes adjustments as needs change.
- Use activities and home exercise programs to improve swallowing, breathing, cognition, speech and communication, and/or any other speech therapy related function.
- Help decrease re-hospitalizations by teaching the patient on preventative measures and making good decisions.
- Counsel patient and family on the disease/injury and how to manage in all phases of speech therapy.
- Complete all clinical documentation following agency protocol and Medicare/Federal guidelines.
- Understand and follow agency policies, procedures, rules, and regulations and communicate changes in schedule/availability to schedulers or supervisors.
- Attend in-service training and mandatory agency meetings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Home care experience preferred.
