Requirements
- 6+ years of sales engineering, solutions architecture, or consulting in data operations, analytics, or BI
- Proven hands-on experience with SQL, ETL, and data modeling
- Strong understanding of modern data stacks and cloud data warehousing
- Effective communicator—able to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Ability to gather and translate technical and business requirements into concrete solutions
- Excellent written, and in-person communication skills to discuss complex topics with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Adaptable in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities
- A passion for being an inclusive teammate and involved member of the community
Responsibilities
- Design modern, enterprise-scale data architectures using dbt Cloud
- Partner with Sales to demonstrate the technical value of dbt Labs solutions
- Lead proof-of-concept engagements and technical evaluations for prospective customers
- Work with engineering to deploy dbt Cloud in private clouds for enterprise clients
- Manage the full customer lifecycle, from pre-sales through onboarding and adoption
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to influence the enterprise roadmap
- Enable strategic partners (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, AWS) in their implementation of dbt
- Engage in the dbt Community and contribute to thought leadership
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience working at an analytics, ETL, BI, and/or open-sourced software
- Knowledge of or prior experience with dbt
- Experience with Data Modeling methods such as dimensional, data vault, Kimball, 3NF
- Experience with Data warehousing tooling (Snowflake, Databricks, etc.)
- Experience with leading the technical aspects of the sales cycle, including discovery, solution demos, value articulation, scoping proof-of-value (POV) engagements, executive-level POCs, and final readouts
