Requirements
- Three years plus of soldering/assembly experience.
- Capable of soldering and de-soldering of surface mounted devices and through hole components
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Proficient with use of hand tools.
- Experience with PC Board assembly
- Hand soldering skills for small PCB based assemblies.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Must be able to read and understand electrical and mechanical blueprints.
- Knowledge of Components.
- Understanding of electricity/electronics.
- Understand basic ESD (electro-static discharge) handling requirements.
- Demonstrates the ability to concentrate for extended periods on highly repetitive tasks.
- Computer proficient and able to learn new software programs.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Flexible and eager to do what’s necessary to get the job done.

Responsibilities
- Performs soldering, building wire and cable assemblies and other assembly operations.
- Maintains and operates soldering equipment.
- Performs intermediate assembly tasks as required.
- Simple mechanical fabrication and assembly using hand tools.
- Conduct / monitor experiments on high voltage, high power devices.
- Works from work orders, engineering drawings, and visual/written work instructions to assemble electro-mechanical components.
- Identify and initiate continuous improvement for product safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Inspect finished products for quality assurance.
- Assist in resolving production failures or product issues.
- Use word processing and spreadsheet software for documentation.
- Mark and tag components so that stock inventory will be tracked and identified.
- Utilizing electrical schematics wire systems and cabinets with minimal supervision.
- Preparing components for installation, including forming components by hand or automation, bending leads and preconditioning leads or wires.
- Operate basic equipment such as microscopes, scales, gauges, and crimping equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- IPC 610/620/JSTD or equivalent certifications are a plus.
- Quality workmanship and displayed ability of meeting production standards where trained.
- Good organization and record-keeping skills
- Troubleshooting of simple electrical systems,
- Two-year technical degree.
