Software Engineering Manager – Network Routing

BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
5+ years experience managing a networking-related software engineering team
Experience with software development for distributed and embedded systems
Demonstrated experience recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management and managing engineers
Working knowledge of networking, distributed systems, routing protocols, or control-plane aspects of network switches.

Hold your own in technical discussions, be a subject matter expert, and have strategic influence
Help define and drive regular development of a technical roadmap to meet the needs of the team, and partner teams
Operate in a rapidly evolving environment, adapting quickly to new information and re-prioritizing as needed
Manage software engineers building, scaling, deploying, and supporting network systems for our global network infrastructure.
Help engineers develop their careers, assigning them to projects tailored to their skill levels, long-term skill development, personalities, and work styles
Set clear expectations and create a work environment based on accountability, in collaboration with the engineering and management teams.
Interact with external partners as needed in resolving dependencies associated with objectives
Communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional software and network engineering teams.
Assess employee performance frequently, address under-performance, and recognize and promote outstanding performance
Work closely with dedicated recruiting staff to expand the team, including sourcing candidates, interviewing candidates, participating in conferences/events, and onboarding new employees
