Requirements
- Bachelor degree and equivalent education and experience, which could include any combination of ten years of experience in IT software engineering, five years’ relevant business experience (i.e. making technical-related decisions on the business side), five years’ experience in project management, and at least five years of management experience.
- Broad and in-depth knowledge of technology trends, competitive environment, regulatory requirements and trends, and IT strategies employed to continually meet the demands of clients and regulators
- Ability to translate enterprise level strategic planning information into software and data management needs, create business plans, and turn them into effective business solutions
- Executive level communications skills, including, strong negotiation/facilitation/presentation skills and experience negotiating with vendors for relevant products and services
- Ability to solve unique and highly complex technical, operational, and organizational problems
- Ability to lead and manage the performance of multiple teams against a set of financial and operational objectives
- Experience managing projects with enterprise-wide implications from conception through implementation
Responsibilities
- Direct the engineering and deployment of significant delivery projects in accordance with specified technical requirements, schedules and budgets, including Agile methodologies.
- Bring a passion to stay on top of tech trends, experiment with and learn new technologies, participate in internal & external technology communities, and mentor other members of the engineering community
- Lead teams by encouraging innovation, implementation of cutting-edge technologies, inclusion, outside-of-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity
- Oversee the planning, design, engineering, automated testing and deployment of application projects in conjunction with a variety of resources, which may include Waterfall or Agile approaches.
- Develop departmental plans, including business, financial, production and/or organizational priorities based on IT and focuses on long-term strategic planning and performance, and broader business objectives and priorities.
- Apply an in-depth understanding of systems engineering and administration in guiding and coaching team members across a variety of diverse technical skillset, disciplines, and platforms
- Identify and resolve complex technical, operational, and organizational problems leveraging strong problem solving, teamwork, influencing, and communication skills
- Impact results by planning and sometimes championing for the funding of projects, products, services, and/or technologies.
- Maintain appropriate Risk Profile through owning the first line of Risk defense, proactively identifying risks, and implementing the necessary mitigations where warranted. Partner effectively with 2nd line of defense, Auditor, and regulators to ensure Risk is identified and mitigated appropriately.
- Will often play as a technical consultant, lead role, or a liaison between business, product and technology in large or complex projects or initiatives.
- Strong recruiter of a diverse set of talented engineers and actively participates in self-directed or enterprise-wide recruiting initiatives.
- Oftentimes, helps drive technical and business strategy, as well as help influence stakeholders decisions.
- Be a positive change agent to help define the Truist culture by implementing that change within their own teams to showcase a newer and higher standard.
- Ability to help manage a high volume of stakeholder relationships across several internal or external teams/organizations.
- Help develop and support business cases that lead to investment of new technologies, initiatives, or programs in support of business or technology strategy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of multiple approaches to Software Engineering
- Full understanding of Agile methodology
- Experience leading teams in an Agile organization, particularly those practicing DevSecOps, and/or are in transition from traditional waterfall approach to Agile approach
- Banking or financial services experience
- Expertise in designing, testing, and scaling resilient architectures that maintain high availability and fault tolerance under heavy transactional loads.
- Experience with chaos engineering, disaster recovery planning, and building self-healing systems.
- Deep understanding of service-level objectives (SLOs) and service-level agreements (SLAs) in mission-critical environments.
- Proven experience in integrating AI/ML models into operational workflows for predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, and real-time decision support.
- Strong background in data analytics and leveraging big data frameworks to enhance the accuracy of predictive algorithms.
- Familiarity with AI/ML Ops practices to ensure robust model deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Skill in implementing state-of-the-art observability platforms to provide deep insights into system performance, enabling proactive issue resolution.
- Proficiency with modern telemetry, logging, and monitoring tools that integrate seamlessly with AI/ML systems.
- Experience ensuring that resilient and AI-driven infrastructures adhere to stringent financial services regulations and cybersecurity best practices.
- Ability to integrate security and compliance as integral parts of the overall architecture, particularly in an evolving threat landscape.
- Demonstrated track record of leveraging emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement and foster an innovation culture.
- Strong problem-solving skills to pioneer creative solutions that address both current and future operational challenges.
- ServiceNOW AIOps experience.
