Requirements
- 7+ years software development or proficiency with a modern programming language
- Experience building and operating business-critical systems at scale
- Distributed Systems experience (e.g. building stateful & stateless systems, experience with Casandra, Kafka, etc)
Responsibilities
- Build cloud services that customers directly hit when they press ‘Play’
- Develop algorithms for steering customers to Netflix Live hardware for optimal Quality-of-Experience
- Create systems that direct how Open Connect caching appliances fill from each other to deliver a Live stream
- Implement load-balancing algorithms for optimizing hardware utilization
- Design operational tools to quickly diagnose and fix problems during live streaming
Preferred Qualifications
- Live streaming experience
- Basic background in networking concepts
- Big Data Experience (e.g. Hive, Spark, Presto, etc.)
- Experience with ML or optimization algorithms
