Software Engineer – AI Applications

Requirements

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in another discipline with demonstrated experience (academic or professional) building generative AI applications
• 1-3 years of experience building applications in python
• 1-2 years of experience with react and modern front end development
• Understanding of prompting best practices
• Knowledge of current AI landscape
• Willingness to think creatively to explore potential use cases
• A passion for working in financial markets

Responsibilities

• Build and deploy generative AI-driven applications using modern full-stack technologies (React, Python, cloud services)
• Develop and enhance Cboe’s AI Platform
• Design new agents and tools and integrate them with the Cboe AI Platform
• Create intuitive, novel user interfaces that make complex AI capabilities accessible to end users
• Stay up to date on AI advancements, and think critically about when and how to implement them
• Work closely with complementary engineering teams
• Produce clear and thorough documentation, including high-level charter, functional requirements, technical design, and testing scenarios
• Provide ongoing application support to end users
• Communicate technical information clearly and concisely to an end-user audience

Preferred Qualifications

• Worked with cloud computing services (AWS, Snowflake preferred)
• Experience with vector databases, text embeddings, and/or agent-based AI tools
• Experience writing effective and performant SQL
• Experience building end-to-end, large scale web applications
• Projects or experience leveraging AI for creative or novel use cases
