Slitter Assistant Night Shift

One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED).
Must be detail conscious, quality control and safe production oriented.

Assist the slitting machine operation in preparing material for shipment.
Cut cores to correct length per specification.
Prepare winder shafts with cores as necessary.
Splice rolls together.
Position roll of material to be slit at the unwind (rear of machine).
Carry finished rolls to bench, remove shaft, rebuild shaft and place on slitter.
Move rolls with defects to slitting area.
Stack rolls properly and neatly.
Wrap rolls, weigh if necessary and place roll on pallet with corrugated cardboard for cushion.
Do not touch the sealant side of the web unless necessary to minimize contamination of food contact surfaces.
Assist slitter operator in the performance of other routine duties.
