Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience working with server, storage, compute and network hardware.
  • 2+ Years of experience troubleshooting and repairing servers and networking infrastructure.
  • Strong linux skills including navigating the system’s directories and filing system, manipulating files in the Linux shell, using Linux commands for process management, basic troubleshooting and debugging, and Bash or other scripting.
  • Must be able to lift 40+ lbs and use a server lift.
  • Must be able to be on-call and have the ability to respond to critical events as needed.
  • 2+ years experience leading Data Center Infrastructure projects.
  • 2+ years of experience in Structured Cabling Copper/Fiber.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair server and network hardware issues, including racking, stacking, and cabling equipment during data center build-outs and maintenance.
  • Maintain and optimize network infrastructure by performing equipment swaps, troubleshooting and repairing optics, fiber links, and other connectivity issues.
  • Manage and resolve data center operations tickets in Jira, ensuring timely responses and cross-functional collaboration with engineering, provisioning, and support teams.
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation in the ticket system or SOP, including detailed troubleshooting and resolution in a ticket or standard operating procedures (SOPs) for old or new processes.
  • Receive, inspect, and decommission data center hardware, coordinating with vendors for returns of equipment under warranty or end-of-life cycles.
  • Install and configure racks, servers, and network switches, including staging, cabling, powering up, and handing off hardware to provisioning teams for customer capacity deployment.
  • Collaborate with vendors to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues, ensuring minimal downtime and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Perform routine hardware maintenance, including firmware updates, component replacements (e.g., drives, power supplies), and preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability.
  • Monitor data center infrastructure using tools like SNMP, or other monitoring systems to proactively identify and address potential issues.
  • Support data center audits and compliance by maintaining accurate asset records and ensuring adherence to security, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical incidents, ensuring rapid response and resolution in a high-availability environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects such as capacity expansions, technology upgrades, and process improvements to enhance data center efficiency.
