Requirements
- 2 years’ experience in tractor and trailer inspection and repair OR a technical school degree, or certification in Heavy Duty Truck/Trailer Maintenance
- Valid state-issued driver’s license
- Brake inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.25
- Vehicle Inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.19
Responsibilities
- Performs minor to intermediate inspections repairs and replacements following company guidelines on all Walmart equipment
- Creates and processes work orders
- Performs minor diagnostics with technical and electronic equipment on the various Walmart equipment
- Assesses maintenance repair and replacement needs
- Identifies needed parts and possible solutions
- Consults with others and selects the best possible solution
- Conducts repairs and replacements for example repair drivetrain components
- Repairs and replaces communication equipment and onboard technology
- Conducts minor trailer diagnostics of HVAC systems following company and Department of Transportation DOT guidelines and requirements
- Communicates with individuals or groups for example customers suppliers associates verbally and in writing
- Receives fuel drops and conducts fuel sampling by monitoring the drop to ensure safety compliance
- Correctly identifies and performs warrantable repairs by entering accurate information on the condition cause and correction into the maintenance system

- ASE Certification – Certification
- Transportation – Driver’s License Class F – Certification
