Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline from an ABET accredited university.
  • Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope OR Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business need
  • 2+ year experience performing test and analysis on digital/analog semiconductor parts
  • Understanding of circuit modeling (SPICE, PSPICE, LTSPICE) techniques and implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Modeling semiconductor radiation effects, including Total Ionizing Dose (TID) effects, Neutron Displacement Damage (NDD) effects, Prompt Gamma Dose Rate effects, and Single Event Effects (SEE) using PSPICE.
  • Analyzing and assessing the impact of radiation on the performance of aerospace vehicle electronics and subsystems.
  • Evaluating electronic parts, cables, and circuit cards to ensure compliance with radiation hardening requirements.
  • Performing circuit simulations and analyzing the degradation of analog and digital circuits due to radiation exposure.
  • Conducting embedded hardware and software qualification testing for circuit card assemblies and lower level modules to verify performance and reliability in radiation environments.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to provide input during design reviews and ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Reviewing industry standards and survivability/radiation plans to align with internal and external requirements.
  • Communicating effectively and reporting regular status updates to Program Managers and technical leaders.
  • Perform Nuclear Hardness and Survivability (NH&S) analysis for electronics units, subsystems, payloads, and ballistic missile systems.
  • Analyze radiation test plans and parts radiation test results for higher-level implementation in circuit degradation analysis. This includes Total Ionizing Dose effects, Neutron Displacement Damage effects, Prompt Gamma Dose Rate effects, and Single Event Effects statistical analysis and modeling.
  • Review data deliverables from other teams and subcontractors including: test plans, test reports, verification methodology, and analysis reports for hardening of components against requirements on total dose, displacement damage, prompts and prompt dose latchup/ upset, and single event effects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need
  • Experience in embedded hardware and software qualification testing for circuit card assemblies and lower level modules.
  • Design and test experience in more than one: Digital/Analog/RF technology
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD-1766
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to lead team and execute to program schedule
  • Weapon System experience (Minuteman III or similar military or industry experience)
  • Master’s degree in electrical or nuclear engineering from an accredited institution
