Requirements
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, with a strong focus on virtualization and cloud technologies.
- Demonstrated expertise with virtualization platforms such as VMware, KVM, or Hyper-V in secure environments.
- Experience with AWS services supporting IL5 workloads, including EC2, VPC, IAM, and CloudFormation.
- In-depth knowledge of containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
- Strong understanding of DoD cybersecurity frameworks including RMF, STIGs, and NIST 800-53.
- Active Secret clearance.
Responsibilities
- Architect and optimize virtualized compute environments within AWS GovCloud to support secure cloud landing zones and mission applications.
- Lead efforts to virtualize infrastructure and streamline deployment of shared services in compliance with IL5 requirements and DoD SCCA.
- Support the configuration, integration, and sustainment of virtualization platforms and automation tools used in CI/CD pipelines.
- Provide technical leadership and deep expertise in VM lifecycle management, container orchestration, and performance tuning.
- Ensure virtual environments meet DoD cybersecurity standards through configuration hardening, patching, and continuous monitoring.
- Collaborate with DevSecOps teams to optimize pipeline performance and implement best practices for automation and resilience.
- Contribute to ATO packages by maintaining required RMF documentation and security artifacts related to virtualized services.
- Troubleshoot complex system issues and recommend strategies for scaling and enhancing virtualization strategies across cloud environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience deploying and managing virtualized environments in AWS GovCloud or similar regulated cloud environments.
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, VMware VCP, or Security+.
- Experience with GitLab, JFrog Artifactory, SonarQube, or similar DevSecOps toolchains.
- Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture and DoD SCCA-compliant cloud implementations.
- Strong documentation and communication skills for collaboration with engineering, security, and mission teams.
