Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of experience with Test Management (e.g., test methodologies, planning, execution, and reporting) in a data center environment or experience with hardware testing, process validation, or software testing.
- Experience with systems integration and validation processes.
Responsibilities
- Validate complex new product introduction (NPI) systems across the entire data center lifecycle, from loading dock to decommissioning, guaranteeing adherence to critical technical specifications.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans leveraging data center insights to drive effective validation.
- Communicate test findings and potential risks to cross-functional engineering teams, influencing product design and mitigation strategies.
- Improve testing efficiency by identifying and implementing automation opportunities, streamlining test execution and reporting processes, and accelerating product validation.
- Drive product quality and compliance by conducting audits and implementing test methodologies to ensure adherence to internal and regulatory standards, qualifying servers and specialized hardware for Google’s data centers.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of debugging skills, and familiarity with industry standard simulations and debug tools.
- Knowledge of hardware engineering including design, development, and testing of physical components of a computer/device, and how to interact with the software.
- Knowledge of hardware architecture design and component interactions, including knowledge of how design choices affect components and systems, standards and protocols, and the ability to navigate trade-offs.
- Ability to develop and execute validation plans for hardware products based on the understanding of the architecture, design, and manufacturing process; this includes the development of a testing environment (e.g., stress stimuli, trackers).
