Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience in technical project management, preferably within the capital markets industry.
- Demonstrated experience leading and delivering complex software development projects through the full project lifecycle.
- Strong understanding and practical application of Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
- Proven expertise in utilizing Jira for project planning, tracking, and reporting.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to clearly connect the dots between different projects, resources and dependencies.
Responsibilities
- Assume full ownership of the entire project lifecycle, from project initiation and planning through execution, monitoring, and successful closure.
- Develop comprehensive and well-defined project plans, clearly articulating project scope, detailed timelines, key milestones, resource allocation, and budget considerations.
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks and issues that could impede project progress or impact overall project success, developing effective contingency plans as needed.
- Facilitate and lead daily scrum meetings, ensuring efficient communication, transparent progress tracking, proactive identification and resolution of roadblocks, and fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Plan and expertly facilitate sprint planning sessions, working closely with the team to ensure a clear and shared understanding of sprint goals and prioritized backlog items.
- Diligently monitor sprint progress against established goals, proactively identifying and addressing any deviations from the plan to ensure timely delivery.
- Expertly manage and maintain the Jira project board, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information regarding tasks, progress, and impediments.
- Collaborate closely and effectively with the product management team to gain a thorough understanding of product requirements and ensure seamless alignment between project objectives and product vision.
- Contribute significantly to the product delivery process by providing valuable technical insights, guidance, and expertise to the development team.
- Help drive release planning activities, facilitate critical go/no-go meetings, and meticulously oversee the completion of all necessary pre-release checklists and comprehensive smoke testing to ensure stable and high-quality releases.
- Actively participate in product demos and retrospective meetings, providing constructive feedback and proactively identifying opportunities for continuous process improvement.
- Establish and nurture strong, collaborative working relationships with engineering teams, product managers, design teams, and other key stakeholders across the organization.
- Facilitate effective and transparent communication and foster seamless collaboration across diverse teams, ensuring alignment and shared understanding of project goals and progress.
- Proactively identify and resolve conflicts or disagreements that may arise within or between teams, ensuring a unified and productive working environment focused on achieving common objectives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working within a regulated environment within capital markets.
- Familiarity with clearing systems and options and futures products is a plus.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or other relevant certifications.
