Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree OR 5+ years of experience in one of the following: Engineering, Information Technology, LMR, RF systems, Radio Communications, Radio Propagation, LTE, Broadband, Radio Frequency, Wired/Wireless Communication Systems, IT Systems, Telecommunications, Public Safety, Military, Motorola Solutions equipment or Networking equipment.
- Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customers.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, maintain, and modify Motorola Solutions Public Safety systems consistent with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Develops, designs, evaluates, modifies and manages systems consistent with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Responsibilities include optimization and support of complex communication systems for New York’s Public Safety Radio Systems.
- Provide technical leadership and support of specialized systems and product applications including troubleshooting of software-driven electronics, provisioning of communication system infrastructure, and performance optimization of RF and Broadband architecture including, but not limited to, legacy analog, advanced digital P25, and data infrastructure.
- Program, configure, optimize, test, and document complex communications systems.
- Resolve escalated technical issues with speed and accuracy.
- Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to resolve technical concerns.
- Provide weekly reports of activities and resolutions to customers.
- Manage, schedule, track, and develop reports on network infrastructure upgrades, system performance, preventive maintenance, incident management, SLA, and customer escalations.
- Responsible for delivering the contractual scope, on schedule and within budget, while maintaining customer satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of R.F. systems, such as transmitters, receivers, and antenna networks
- Knowledge in standard telephony and dedicated data circuits, as well as, knowledge of packet-switching techniques
- Highly computer literate with proficiency in the Google suite of products, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access
- Strong self-management skills and “people” skills to work closely with Motorola’s customers and subcontractor (MSS) community, as well as Motorola Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and Customer Service teams
- Self-motivated and self-managed to perform the required duties at a distance from direct supervision
- Ability to direct scheduling, task assignments, and training roadmap for a small team of local field service technicians
- Experience with logging recording systems, RF interfaces, wired/wireless communications systems, and/or Juniper networking equipment
- Unique combinations of both multi-site RF communications systems and/or computer/networking skills are required.
