Requirements
- Deep understanding of how vehicle systems work and ability to leverage this knowledge to plan for verification and validation.
- 3+ years of experience working on vehicle control system or embedded software.
- Experience testing in HIL environments or on road testing.
- Familiarity with automotive functional safety (ISO 26262) including requirements generation.
- Ability to read code in C++ and write code in Python.
- Strong communication skills – both verbal and written.
Responsibilities
- Work with Autonomy systems, Controls and Embedded SW for setting system level requirements for vehicle motion control and coordinate with Vehicle Test teams for plan and execution of validation activities.
- Work with planner and motion control teams to design the planner-motion controller interface. Develop methods for evaluating and characterizing the limits used in trajectory generation and motion tracking.
- Recommend trajectory constraints of various virtual drivers for current and future Operational Design Domains on different vehicle platforms.
- Recommend and quantify coverage of test suites for validation of Motion Control system, including ensuring the realism and relevance of proposed tests across simulation, HIL, onroad, and closed course.
- Work with Controls, Embedded SW, VE and other external teams on a daily basis to provide guidance on technical implementation. Collaborate with engineering teams to perform root cause analysis and resolve issues that arise from integration and testing.
- Lead the efforts on safety work products pertaining to motion control and fault management systems with cross functional teams and support other functional safety analyses as needed (FTA, FMEA, etc.).
- Contribute to the overall safety case of the final product, and support safety analysis for improving the safety architecture.
Preferred Qualifications
- AV or ADAS background.
- Hands on experience working on ISO 26262.
- Familiarity with other safety standards such as STPA, ISO-21448, ISO 8800, etc.
- 3+ years of experience designing subsystems of a vehicle like drive, power, etc.
