Responsibilities

  • Design and implement the system architecture and advanced modeling and simulation tools to represent weapon system production, assembly, testing, sustainment, and repair operations at component, subsystem, and system levels.
  • Build and maintain end-to-end digital models of the weapon system manufacturing and repair supply chain, incorporating suppliers, subcontractors, logistics nodes, and depot operations.
  • Conduct system performance analysis to evaluate production throughput, bottlenecks, facility utilization, material flow, and process efficiencies.
  • Define interfaces, data flows, and integration points across subsystems, modeling tools, databases, and visualization platforms.
  • Establish and enforce modeling standards, configuration management, and version control practices to ensure model integrity, traceability, and repeatability.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to translate operational, analytical, and programmatic requirements into model features and architectural components.
  • Support validation, verification, and accreditation (VV&A) of models and simulation environments.
  • Collaborate with operations research analysts and data scientists to enable analytical methods, optimization models, and performance dashboards.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and software developers to ensure proper data integration, model automation, and alignment with enterprise digital environments.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, model specifications, and system interface control documents.
  • Ensure architecture and model designs comply with data governance, security, and export control requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership in integrating new modeling technologies, simulation tools, and cloud-based environments as applicable.
  • Perform scenario-based analysis (e.g., peak demand, reduced staffing, surge production, quality control flags) to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Develop simulation-based dashboards and visualization tools for real-time monitoring of key performance indicators (KPIs), predictive trends, and risks.
  • Generate technical documentation, user manuals, and model configuration guides to support sustainment, reuse, and continuous improvement.
