Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a field related to the work to be performed.
  • At least five years of experience in student program coordination and/or program management in an educational environment.
  • Proven leadership experience in the field of graduate student education.
  • A demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and resourcefulness in problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated innovation, initiative, follow-through, tact, diplomacy, and sound judgment while working with students, families, faculty, staff, and administrators.
  • Punctuality and professional demeanor.
  • Strong ability to lead and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without sponsorship.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for SOA graduate students and SOA graduate program advisors.
  • Serve as the primary SOA Graduate School liaison.
  • Effectively communicate, document, and maintain digital records for degree requirements, degree progress, academic standards, course selection, administrative processes, campus resources, and SOA and UT policies.
  • Manage graduate registration and other university processes.
  • Serve as the primary SOA graduate grade representative.
  • Develop, administer, and explore new models of effective delivery of services for graduate students.
  • Execute tasks and assignments which require specialized knowledge and skills of SOA graduate programs and processes.
  • Provide practical solutions in the resolution of complex issues.
  • Advocate for student interests as a member of SOA Graduate Studies Committees.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and graduate program activities (i.e., University’s Graduate Coordinator Network, etc.) and as needed for university-wide and school-wide events, including Commencement, graduate orientation, and recruitment activities.
  • Assist with admissions coordination as needed, serving as back-up for the Graduate Admissions Coordinator and supporting of graduate admissions functions and tasks.
  • Assist with the coordination and collaboration of data collection and analysis in support of SOA graduate program goals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possess education or experience that exceeds the required minimum qualifications.
  • Demonstrated interest in architecture, design, or fine arts.
  • Recent and relevant experience performing similar tasks within an academic institution.
  • Demonstrated excellence in writing, formatting, and editing professional business correspondence on behalf of an academic leader in a university setting.
  • Familiarity with university applications and systems necessary for daily operations.
  • General knowledge of UT procedures and policy.
