Senior/Staff Wireless Lead Engineer

M.S or PhD in Electrical Engineering, telecommunications, computer science or a related discipline
10+ years of professional work experience
Deep expertise in 4G-LTE, 5G-NR, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth radio access network (RAN) and core network (CN) architectures including control and user-planes
Fundamental understanding of wireless network protocols with particular emphasis on L1-L3 including PHY, RRC, RRM, NAS and security protocols including SIM processing
In-depth expertise in standards development organization (SDO) specifications that define wireless networks including 3GPP, IEEE 802.11x, BT SIG and related specifications including IETF

Collaborate with Zoox engineering teams to identify and prioritize network features aligned with Zoox’s technical and business priorities
Architect world-class wireless engineering solutions including antenna and radio frequency front end (RFFE) engineering, multi-antenna MIMO and baseband optimization, network slicing and advanced quality of service assurance, mobility procedure and performance optimization, and the application of AI and machine learning principles to wireless network performance optimization
Liaise closely with Zoox field deployment optimization teams to identify, record, process and interpret key device and service performance attributes
Make critical engineering contributions to the identification and resolution of solution defects and ensure key opportunities for further improvement in wireless network performance are re-mapped into the Zoox engineering design process
Establish, maintain and evolve technical relationships with leading technical experts in US and international Mobile Network Operator (MNO) technical staff, Tier-1 network infrastructure vendors, and mobile chipset vendors
