Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or more from an accredited program in engineering, management sciences, computer, or information systems, STEM field.
- 8 years relative experience
- Deep understanding of new space and how commercial markets operate
- Demonstrated strengths in several of the following: data science, financial and market analysis, econometrics, business case or business plan analysis, mergers and acquisitions, space markets, national security, hedge fund management, private equity, venture capital (buy side), business viability assessment, financial due diligence.
- Demonstrated experience in formulation of business assessment task planning, working in cross-functional or cross-organizational teams (USG, FFRDC, contractor), issue resolution, and orchestrating task balance across a team.
- Strategic thinking and ability to successfully lead teams through ambiguity and managing competing timelines.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers.
- Collaborative approach to working in a team environment exhibiting grace and respect, always.
- Interpersonal, time management, and project management skills, ability to estimate tasks.

- This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Actively participate with our primary customers within the various Civil, DoD, and Intelligence Community space, ground, and launch systems.
- Develop or contribute to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity, referring more sophisticated issues to higher levels.
- Advise key stakeholders and government customers by conducting a variety of space market intelligence via conducting business viability studies, due diligence analyses and associated risk mitigation activities to identify, assess, and communicate impacts of the evolving commercial new space landscape on USG government activities.
- Assist development of market and business intelligence analysis, tools, and products for space health monitoring for government customers. Projects may include building and streamlining economic, market, business, and financial analysis tools, developing products to rapidly identify, and disseminate “alerts” of significant business events to US Government leadership responsible for acquiring current and future systems.
- Serve as a member of interdisciplinary teams in ongoing research or technical programs and interactions with customer and/or Aerospace program offices.
- Collects, organizes, and evaluates business and economic data to be shared with senior Aerospace, customer, and possibly contractor leadership.
- Facilitates integrating space market and business intelligence & analytics into USG acquisition processes and strategic program plans.
- Facilitate Interactions with Government and contractor representatives to bring key aspects of technology, engineering design, business, economic analysis, and market research to bear on acquisition planning support and national industrial base policy.
- Support continuous process improvement efforts to reduce wasted time and redundancy.
- Proactively interact with customers by communicating project status, technical findings, and give technical demonstrations.
- Serve as a spokesperson to management and customers on matters related to the EMAC disciplines when needed.
- Actively engage with the professional community by leading and organizing events such as conferences, seminars, and industry forums.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for engagement and growth.
- Spearhead research initiatives that foster innovation.
- Develop and deliver accurate and timely reports and presentations that clearly communicate results and solutions to support critical decisions.

Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree from an accredited program in a relevant field
- 10 years Experience with Government or commercial space operations management and Venture Capital (buy side) experience
- Undergraduate or Graduate business/investment/finance/economic degree or equivalent experience/certification
- Familiarity with companies supporting aerospace/defense industrial base
- Familiarity with Aerospace Corporation’s customers and working in a classified environment
- Relevant internships or past positions building skills to support US Government’s desire to increase usage of commercial services.
