Requirements
- Experienced SEO editor with a proven track record of working in a fast-paced newsroom environment
- In-depth knowledge of SEO & best practices gained from a dedicated SEO position
- Knowledge of a variety of SEO tools including Google Analytics, SEMRush, and Google Search Console
- Ability to create content that drives engagement
- Excellent time management skills to allow for efficient forward planning of content
Responsibilities
- Drive audience growth across all search platforms including Google organic and Discover
- Identify traffic driving opportunities
- Create and maintain entity, tag, and topic pages
- Make recommendations to the news team on SEO best practices
- Keep the news team up to date on trends and algorithm changes
- Create SEO guides and training material, updating when needed
- Assist with forward planning content for upcoming high traffic and seasonal topics or events
- Create evergreen content ideas, optimized for search
