Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s degree, or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field
  • 8+ years of experience in power electronics and high voltage semiconductor design
  • Strong foundation in semiconductor physics, power electronics, and circuit design principles
  • Proven experience with rapid prototyping and development cycles in a high-tech environment
  • Background working with semiconductor fabricators to manufacture semiconductor devices
  • Proficiency with simulation tools and test equipment for power electronics

Responsibilities

  • Spearhead effort to gather and utilize requirements for switching components, then apply towards design of physical products
  • Drive the design and development of novel pulsed power electronics components and systems, focusing on high-efficiency, high-reliability semiconductor solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of electrical, mechanical, and physics-based principles in the development of semiconductor devices
  • Lead development cycles, including hands-on prototyping, testing at small scale, and validating performance at large scale, ensuring timely delivery of solutions that maximize performance of our fusion generators
  • Conduct performance simulations, testing, and analysis to validate designs, iterating quickly based on test results and using data-backed decisions making to inform next steps
  • Stay informed on emerging semiconductor materials, device architectures, and power electronics industry trends
  • Document design processes, specifications, test results, and findings to support continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team
