Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Biological Sciences or related discipline in the field of mass spectrometry with 0+ years of experience (with expected completion by August 2025)
  • Candidates with a MS degree and 4+ years of relevant experience will also be considered
  • Extensive experience in structural elucidation across modalities by LC-MS/MS
  • Experience conducting tandem mass spectrometry experiments on HRMS, including sample preparation and optimization, mass spectrometer operation and maintenance, and data interpretation and analysis
  • Familiarity with Genedata or other MS software
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven track record of peer-reviewed publications

Responsibilities

  • Structural elucidation of unknown impurities and degradation products of small molecules, peptides, bioconjugates by developing novel LC HRMS methods
  • Represent the mass spectrometry group in project teams
  • Author technical reports and scientific presentations
  • Explore and develop new technologies applicable to our field
  • Perform data processing with Genedata or other data interpretation software
  • Demonstrate effective multitasking, prioritization and problem-solving skills in the planning and execution of experiments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in organic chemistry
  • Experience in LC-MS based assays including peptide mapping, intact mass, proteomics, and host cell protein analysis characterization for protein engineering
  • Experience in molecular imaging, e.g. MALDI imaging on a Bruker tims TOF fleX
  • Hands on experience in protein sample preparation for MS analysis and top-down protein characterization on Thermo Orbitrap MS system
  • Experience in 2D LC/MS instrumentation
  • Ability to write computer software for automated data interpretation
