Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university program in a scientific or engineering field
- 15 years or more years of increasingly responsible professional engineering and/or scientific experience, including experience in data integration
- Experience serving as integration leader and/or coordinator of a team of technical contributors
- Knowledge and understanding of the NASA program life cycle and system integration processes
- Ability to effectively utilize oral and written communication to express technical concepts and recommendations to personnel at all technical and managerial levels
- Ability to work in a quick-paced, small core team that leads technical discussions across a large technical community and influence teams across the NASA enterprise
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers
- This position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to teams and on multiple strategic human exploration high impact projects with formal products for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Integrate across mission directorates to collect input and gain consensus on strategic matters in both science and technology.
- Lead data integration activities related to science integration, capability integration, and utilization integration across the Mission Directorates in the Strategy and Architecture (SAO) STUI office for the agency.
- Provide leadership and strategic direction to the Artemis Geospatial Data Team.
- Serve as a highly proactive advisor, understanding issues and formulating recommendations to senior-level civil servant management, while working closely with teams and across other offices, working groups, and panels.
- Lead the development of programmatic strategy for data integration addressing priorities of both science and engineering for space exploration.
- Lead projects derived from NASA’s yearly analysis cycles in support of strategic architecture planning.
- Lead consolidation and organization of data product development and analysis tasking related to lunar and Mars surface site characterization.
- Participate in forums for technical discussions where decisions are made related to concepts, mission architecture, testing/training, requirements, and verifications.
- Own, maintain, review, and provide technical input to formal NASA data gap products.
- Engage directly with external stakeholders on research and analysis coordination as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree or PhD in engineering, science, or another related STEM discipline
- More than 20 years of experience within NASA programs
- Experience leading highly technical NASA teams
- Familiarity with requirements development of NASA spacecraft systems
- Experience performing or leading technical and programmatic tasks for NASA
