Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a demonstrated ability to lead and optimize processes.
- Expertise in ASC 606 and revenue recognition principles.
- Experience reviewing revenue contracts and preparing technical accounting memos.
- Prior experience in a publicly traded company environment, including SEC reporting and audit compliance.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive process improvements.
- Proficiency with NetSuite or similar ERP systems; experience with Blackline, AuditBoard, and Tableau is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation, review, and booking of revenue entries for all Maravai entities, ensuring timely and accurate month-end reconciliations of key balance sheet accounts, including Unbilled A/R, Deferred Revenue, Accrued Inventory, and Deferred Costs.
- Act as the primary point of accountability for revenue accounting processes, maintaining high standards of accuracy and efficiency.
- Oversee the preparation and maintenance of the contracts listing, ensuring completeness and accuracy in alignment with company policies.
- Review revenue contracts and prepare technical accounting memos to document conclusions and ensure compliance with ASC 606 and other relevant accounting standards.
- Drive the implementation of revenue recognition conclusions for new contracts in collaboration with the Technical Accounting team.
- Lead the preparation of monthly reporting, including detailed analytical assessments and flux analysis, providing insights for key decision-makers.
- Deliver regional revenue reports to Sales and Business Development teams and spearhead the integration of these reports into Tableau for enterprise-wide use in commission calculations.
- Direct the preparation of supporting schedules for SEC disclosures, including disaggregated revenue and revenue-by-customer reporting, ensuring audit readiness.
- Produce advanced analytical reports on revenue and unbilled receivables to support business strategies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Blackline, AuditBoard, and Tableau is strongly preferred.
