Requirements
- Experience with industrial robots (e.g., ABB, KUKA, FANUC)
- Experience with collaborative robots (e.g., UR10, Universal Robots)
- Knowledge of IoT device protocols such as MQTT, MTConnect, and OPC UA
- Comfortable in a fast-paced prototyping environment with CNC equipment
- Adaptable and committed to continuous learning
- Strong communication skills, including customer interaction
- Minimum 5 years in robotics or a related engineering field
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
- Experience working in facilities managing industrial equipment and engaging with customers
Responsibilities
- Lead design, integration, and deployment of robotic cells for manufacturing and construction research projects, including custom end effectors, tooling, fixtures, and safety systems
- Configure IoT devices, machine communications, and advanced sensors (e.g., vision systems, force/torque sensors) to create autonomous workflows and IoT-enabled environments
- Connect and test data streams using Tandem Connect and other protocols like MTConnect and OPC UA to support data flow into digital twins
- Collaborate with industry partners to deliver innovative robotic solutions, including turnkey and custom programming for construction, manufacturing, and industrial automation
- Support CNC programming, digital fabrication workflows, and advanced manufacturing techniques to enable precise automation
- Drive innovation using the robotics hardware at the Boston Technology Center, which includes industrial, collaborative, and mobile robots
- Contribute to developing the Digital Twin of the Autodesk Technology Centers
- Support maintenance and daily operations of the Boston Technology Center
- Promote safety for staff, researchers, and visitors
- Provide robotics expertise and training to workshop users from research, product, and resident teams
- Foster collaborations with leading organizations in the Boston area
