Requirements
- Bachelor s degree, or postgraduate degree, in engineering, computer science, or related field.
- Ten (10) or more years of experience as a Red Hat system administrator.
- Fifteen (15) or more years of experience in Information Technology (IT).
- Extensive Knowledge of Red Hat administration to include configuration and tuning.
- Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator: Highly Desired (Certification must be issued by Red Hat and include the resource s valid certification number).
- Clearance eligible. Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for 3+ years and Federal Tax compliant.
Responsibilities
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers across development, testing, and production environments.
- Performing system upgrades, patch management, and security hardening to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
- Implementing automation scripts using Ansible, Bash, or Python to streamline system administration tasks.
- Configuring and maintaining Red Hat Satellite, Identity Management (IdM), and other Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) ecosystem tools.
- Collaborating with security teams to ensure systems are protected against vulnerabilities and comply with security policies.
- Maintaining and optimizing storage, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Supporting application teams by providing guidance on best practices for Linux-based systems.
- Maintaining documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting.
- Participating in on-call support and incident resolution activities.
- Setup Network File Server (NFS) and mount.
- Configuring Chron jobs for both systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working in a complex networked system environment with strong Administering systems including, but not limited to, the applications below: Oracle WebLogic Servers, WebMethods, Oracle Database Servers, Apache Web Servers, vSphere hosted RHEL, Oracle Database, Red Hat performance, Load balancing, partitioning, back-up/recovery, and disaster recovery.
- Working in an environment that requires 24/7 system administration (on-call).
