Requirements
- Possession of a Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential from CMAA or equivalent certification demonstrating mastery of construction management principles is required.
- In lieu of certification, a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in commercial construction project management is required (10 years preferred)
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex capital improvement projects, with emphasis on hospitality or similarly demanding environments, is required.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, or other capital planning tools is required.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications with accuracy is required.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate and validate expenses to ensure alignment with scope and budget is required.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment is required.
- Proven ability to independently resolve challenges related to people, processes, and systems is required.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and make data-informed decisions with minimal oversight is required.
- Willingness and ability to travel locally as needed for project oversight is required.
Responsibilities
- Leads and manages all aspects of assigned capital projects, including scope development, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Serves as the primary authority for day-to-day project management and contract administration.
- Collaborates with hotel management teams to align project objectives with operational goals.
- Creates and manages project budgets, forecasts costs, and ensures effective financial resource allocation.
- Monitors project progress and quality to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Manages changes in project scope, schedule, and costs through critical thinking and adaptive planning.
- Negotiates and oversees contracts and relationships with consultants, vendors, and contractors.
- Serves as the main point of contact for all project stakeholders, providing timely updates and addressing concerns.
- Identifies and resolves issues during project execution, adjusting plans to maintain project success.
- Anticipates project and team risks, resolving complex challenges and conflicts proactively.
- Analyzes project outcomes to develop recommendations and improve future project performance.
- Ensures all projects comply with organizational goals and proactively assesses risks to prevent issues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field is preferred.
- Experience providing turn-key project management services with minimal oversight from leadership is preferred.
